U16B Templeogue 5-2 Leixlip
Great game today against the league leaders but we came out on the wrong side of the result. Lads went 1 nil up, and then 2-1 up after great goals from David Ibrahim and a cracker from Sam Bacon. Despite some great saves from Cillian Gamble, Templeogue scored 3 goals in the last 15 minutes as the lads pressed forward to try and get something from the game. Lot of positives from today and we will build on that for the last couple of league games.

U14P Belvedere 2 - 1 Leixlip.
First of all, big thank you to Graham for giving us enough players to field a team. Unfortunately, 1 down after a couple of minutes from failing to clear a corner, thought we’re in for a long day.  Grew into the match slowly without either side creating any great chances, 2 injuries in the half, and no bench not helping us. Second half, we came out on the front foot and kept trying to create chances and sods law against the run of play, another set piece we failed to clear and bundled over the line, 2 down. Lads didn’t give up and with 20 minutes to go, a great through ball from Senan Linane found Danny Pop coming in from the wing, great touch and finish to bottom corner, we missed a few sitters and hit the crossbar after but couldn’t find the equaliser for all our dominance. In the end, it’s hard on the lads not to get a result as the application and attitude of all those that could make it was brilliant. Also, thanks to Roger for making his way over to Clontarf as it really helped all the u13 lads settle in well today, appreciate it.

15M. Leixlip Utd 4 Leicester Celtic 0.
A great 3 points today against one of our promotion rivals. We dominated the first half but just couldn't finish any of the chances that came our way. Second half we really came out strong and after a great ball in from Jamie Flood, Adam Adiboye finished brilliantly. Just a few minutes later Jack Doran twisted and turned in the box and then finished smartly into the bottom corner. We continued to dominate and Tom Byrne and Ryan Naughton scored to give us a deserved win. We go again on Monday against the same opposition which is not ideal but we will give it a good go.

U12M1 Cherry Orchard 1 - 1 Leixlip (photo above)
Our unbeaten record remains at the top of the table, with a brilliant away performance against an excellent Orchard team who are 2nd in the league.
The first half was an even affair, but Cherry Orchard went in 1-up after a defensive error at the back. A gift of a goal, but, the lads needed little talking to at half time - it was simply a case of playing our same game but with a bit more pace, intensity and bite in the tackle. The lads were brilliant in the second half, the equaliser coming from a well worked move with Oisin Guha playing a perfectly weighted through ball down the inside left channel, to Olly Newport who took a good first touch into the box and rifled the ball left footed into near post top corner.
A second goal almost came from a similar move, this time Olly hitting the side netting.
We didn't want the final whistle to blow as it felt like a winner might come, but no complaints after a super battling performance from two strong teams.
Special call outs to the spine of the team - Isaac O'Brien at CB, Hayden Wynne and Oisin Guha in CM, and Nicholas Gajovic up front, who all ran their socks off, but every player can hold their head up high.
Leaves us with a nine point lead at the top, with 4 games to play- no slipping up from here.

U14 M1 Belvedere 2 Leixlip 2
They started strong and had a series of low danger attacks. Persistence from Aidan McConville though got the ball to Stevie Owens who played a lovely ball through to James McGee who calmly picked his spot to give us the lead.
Stevie Owens hit the post but we couldn’t add to it and after the break we went close twice from corners.
They scored 10 minutes in and it was over and back.
Stevie Owens then found Ben Kineavey in the box but he was closely marked and ball fell loose - Senan Moriarty grabbed the opportunity and put his laces through to give us the lead.
Unfortunately towards the end a high ball fell to one of their lads who put it away well.
Good performance but we left 2 points behind.
