A great game for the neutral. From our point of view it was good to get the win especially coming back from 4-2 down with 10 minutes to go. We only played our usual football in patches during the game and gifted Ashbourne the majority of their goals. The winner came from Liam Mcloughlin's strike from distance with a minute to go. We got the reaction we wanted in terms of a result after last week but a lot to work on too.

U13.3 Boys Leixlip United 1-1 Malahide United.
Despite the strong wind making conditions difficult, we created numerous chances in the first half but somehow failed to hit the target, with our efforts going wide or over the crossbar. Down the left-hand side, Harry Keane was excellent at left back, with some outstanding passing causing Malahide plenty of problems.
We were punished early in the second half after failing to deal with a bouncing ball, allowing Malahide to break down the left and finish across the box. The highlight of the day was an excellent equaliser. Eli Gubbins intercepted the ball at right back, drove forward and played a perfectly weighted pass through the gap for Luke Keenan, who showed great composure to slot it across the keeper and into the side netting.
We pushed hard for a winner, especially through corners with the ball bouncing around the 6 yard box where Jude Gallagher forcing 2 or 3 fantastic saves from the Malahide goalkeeper.
The chances were there, the goal was excellent, and the lads battled hard. We just need to be more clinical in front of goal.
U12 Major Boys St Kevins 3-3 Leixlip United.
A 3-all thriller in Wards Cross Saturday morning. We started well playing good football and creating chances, but some sloppy play in midfield gave Kevin's a chance that they took.
We equalized through a Riain Guha penalty after James Dooley was taken down in the box, and went ahead shortly after when James stuck one top corner from edge of the box after good work on the wing by Darragh Connolly. The lead didn't last long as we failed to clear a corner and after some pinball in our box it was 2-2.
Second half was much the same, we were playing well but giving up chances. Ronan Barrett with a few big saves kept us in the game, but Kevin's scored again to go ahead. The equaliser came from Quin Maguire, low and hard shot in off the post after a strong run.
The last 10 mins were all Leixlip, as we threw everything at them. We thought we had it won when Ross Murtagh's shot looked a certain goal, only for the Kevin's keeper to pull off a worldie save to tip it wide. Overall a fair result and a very enjoyable game. Well done boys!
Goals: Riain Guha (P), James Dooley and Quin Maguire.

U15 Major Boys Leixlip United 5-0 Crumlin.
Great win for the lads on Saturday against a very strong Crumlin side, that finished level on points with us last season. Probably our best performance of the season so far, where everything seemed to click today. All 5 goals coming from open-play, and of a really high standard involving some slick passing moves and playing out from the back.
Player of the Match was very hard to pick one, as everyone played so well. However, a special mention to Isaac O’Brien at centre back. He was immense throughout, mopping up everything at the back, winning headers and so calm and assured in possession.
Goalscorers: Tate Rampaul X2, Lucas Duffy, Sean Boland AND Aaron Healy.
U11.10 Boys Finglas Celtic 0–8 Leixlip United.
A welcome return to form for our lads after a tough outing last weekend. We came up against weaker opposition but took full advantage, playing some lovely passing football
The work rate, energy and attitude of the boys throughout was very good. They moved the ball really well, worked hard for each other and were rewarded with some very nicely worked team goals
Unfortunately, the game had to be cut short following an injury to the Finglas goalkeeper. We probably would have added a few more had the game continued, but plenty of positives to take from a very good team performance
Goalscorers: Verner Efu x 2, Liam Kaminski Saes x 2, Thomas O’Reilly,Sean Kelly Murray and Adam O’Callaghan
U13.8 Boys St Kevin's 0-1 Leixlip United.
Bouncebackability is word of the week and we needed to after a disappointing result last week at home, lovely morning in Elenfield park and it was a really good game from both teams, we took the lead midway through the first half with a well worked ball from out wide and Fiachra Feeney got on the end to slot it home from close range.
St Kevin's had the better of the first half and created some good chances, second half was all about keeping it tight and hard work, we got a second but it was ruled out for an offside. We really dug in for last 10 minutes bodies were put on the line and we got a great result, 10/10 for effort.
Goalscorer: Fiachra Feeney
U13.4 Boys Swords Celtic 0-6 Leixlip United.
Despite the scoreline we started very slow today and were sloppy at times and didn’t really find our stride until around 20 minutes into the game when Ruadhan Kelly found the net from close range to make it 1-0.
Ruadhan then found the net for our second goal a couple of minutes later after an excellent passage of play saw Ruadhan slot home for his second. Ryan Nkomazana scored our third just before half time to leave us comfortably in the lead at the break.
We started the second half stronger and dominated the rest of the match, Ryan Nkomazana then made it 4 with an excellent finish into the bottom right corner. Swords didn’t give up though and kept trying to get in behind our back 4 and nearly did which resulted in our centre back Danny Gorman seeing red after the ball struck his hand in the box.Swords stepped up but put their penalty over the bar.
Our 5th goal came when Kayden Marcello executed a spectacular bicycle kick just inside the box after a ball was whipped in from the right hand side which hit the top left corner and left the keeper with no chance. Our final goal was scored by Sam Shetty who tapped home from close range when a shot from Dylan McLoughlin struck the bar and Sam tapped home the rebound. All in all a good win away from home.

U17 Major Boys Leixlip United 0-2 Collinstown.
Game of two halves we were excellent first half set the tone from first whistle. Played some really good football and our right winger Damien Afenkhena was causing all sorts of problems, a slick move front to back starting with Oisin Kelly at left back slipping it to Nathan Byrne in midfield and his pin point ball slid Max Farnan in after 20 minutes and Max’s high shot was tipped over by their keeper.
We were creating other good half chances Daniel Bradley shooting just wide and Dave Andrews hitting the side net with a whipped free kick and Dave also headed inches wide from a free. Collinstown were not showing much but their no.7 was a constant threat but we dealt with everything first half.
Second half we fell off and Collinstown stepped up so they were better than us but we still had a great chance when Daniel Bradley was put through from the halfway line but the defender got back just in time to put him off and his shot went wide.
12 minutes to go and the one time their winger gets past our full back he pulls back and their striker finishes left all alone on the peno spot.
Their seconds came with 2 mins to go as we pushed a ball over the top should’ve been cleared but some tired legs missed the tackle. So many positives from the first half but we just need a small bit of luck and hopefully we can turn momentum around.
U14.2 Girls Leixlip United 2-0 Stamullen FC.
Leixlip United ground out a hard-fought 2-0 win over Stamullen FC in a scrappy game where neither team really took control. Leixlip took the lead when Aoife Dempsey hit a long ball over the top that bounced over the keeper and into the net. Ciara Dempsey then produced a great save to keep Leixlip ahead.
The second half followed a similar pattern, but Leixlip found their best football in the final 10 minutes. Emily Corcoran sealed the win with a fantastic strike from outside the box, giving the keeper no chance. It wasn’t our best performance, but the team dug deep, worked hard and gave 110% to grind out the win. A great team effort!
Goalscorers: Aoife Dempsey and Emily Corcoran.
U14.2 Girls
U17.2 Boys Trinity Donaghmede 1-3 Leixlip United.
Another solid performance by the squad away. Leixlip scored early on after 20 minutes from a corner by Aidan McConville, their defence not dealing with and Steve McLoughlin reacted quickest to guide into the goal. Leixlip continued to press and went close again from Aidan McConville with their keeper producing brilliant save.
We took control of game after 30 minutes with Matthew Dempsey scoring from 25 yards out with a beautiful finish into top corner giving their keeper no chance. Just before half time Patrick Kelly in defence produced a goal line clearance as their forward rounded our keeper.
Secondhalf Leixlip continued to keep possession and went 3 up with a free kick by Conor Watkins and again Steve mcloughlin getting final touch to guide home. Donaghmede were given lifeline 10 mins remaining after mixup at the back and an own goal. We nearly produced another goal after excellent passage of play by Stevie Owen’s, Steve McLoughlin and Aidan McConville finishing only for offside to deny us. Plenty of positives today and great to get the win. Bring on the cup next week.
Youths Major 1 Girls Greystones 1-6 Leixlip United.
A 2:30 kick-off in Greystones takes a bite out of a Sunday, but it was worth the trip.
A flurry of early corners and pressure paid off when Sophie Dalton found Ava Cummins, who drove into the box and finished from close range. Cara Moriarty tucked away Emma Murphy's corner for the second, then sent Daisy Healy sprinting down the right for a cross Ava turned in for her second.
We conceded but replied before the break, with Cara flicking it over her marker and looping a speculative effort into the far corner.
With just 12 legs tired after half-time, but Emma kept harrying in midfield and captain Faye Kelly was a constant threat on the left. Ava completed her hat-trick from the edge of the box, then converted a penalty for her fourth after Daisy was chopped by the keeper.
Danielle Tjurin and Juliette Collins shared the keeping duties really well, with Juliette also putting in a strong half at full back. Abby Hudson, Jazzy Krumina, Lauren Doyle and Marie Isabelle Merenciuc Sadoveanu were nicely solid in their first game combining as a back four.
